This artifact was written in the Ethics class. It gives an in depth analysis of an ethical case. The completion of this case allowed me to be accustomed to the process of making an ethical decision using the STEPS Model. This approach is now in my toolbox for future ethical and legal decisions that come up in my career.

This artifact was written in the multicultural class. This artifact opened my eyes into the Jewish culture. Counseling techniques were also looked at in this paper. By the end of my research, I felt competent to help students from the Jewish population while being aware of their cultural history. However, the lessons are not specified to just the Jewish population. These lessons can be generalized to all populations. Each population has their own unique cultural history.

This artifact helped me articulate a working knowledge of my own human development. The work done on this presentation can help describe and implement approaches that enhance personal development, decision-making abilities, personal responsibility, and quality of life of individuals with a disability. In reference to future students, I am able to use certain strategies and skills based off of where the students are developmentally in their life.

This artifact helped me to achieve competence in the realm of career work with students. In this assignment, I chose to compare the ASCA and ACA ethical codes in regards to career counseling. This assignment helped me see not only the similarities and differences, but also the importance of career counseling in my profession. Some may think that career counseling can really only be done at a much older age. However, fostering career interests at an early age might just be as important, if not more.

The presentation on DBT helped me develop skills and techniques to use on students with a specific disability. With this presentation, I was also able to adapt certain skills and techniques into my own counseling toolbox. As a result, I am able to use these skills when I see fit depending on the student.

In this artifact, a mock proposal was written for a high school group that caters to the needs of first generation students looking to go to college. This assignment gave me confidence for creating future groups in the school environment. Also, I am able to effectively write a proposal that encompasses the details of the needed group to my supervisor. The proposal shows the importance of the group for the students at need.

In this artifact, a case study was looked at and analyzed. The focus of this case study was on describing the disability at hand, analyzing the assessment scores, identifying specific points of advocacy for the IEP, and developing a school counseling plan. As a result of this assignment, I am able to go into IEP meetings or look at written assessments and interpret the data myself. Also, I am able to create and conduct individual sessions based on these scores and that students capabilities.

This artifact that is being used is my IRB paper that was created in Research and Evaluation. In this IRB paper, a mock study was created to send to the potential IRB. By writing this paper, I am more competent with the intake of valuable research data that could help in my profession. It is important to note that research cannot be applied to all populations. By being an effective consumer of this research, I can effectively generalize the findings to the necessary population.
