Practicum/Fieldwork |
Description |
Advanced Applied Counseling for School Counselors
Practicum: School Counselors (PreK-8) |
Here is where all the classwork came to practice. Advanced applied consisted of school counselors partaking in 100 hours of fieldwork while completing a needs assessment at this current placement. Also, video was taken of a counseling session and critiqued during class time. Practicum consisted of two semesters of fieldwork that were each 300 hours. During these 300 hours, an extension of the needs assessment was done, either creating a curriculum, implementing the curriculum, or analyzing the data of the curriculum after it was implemented. Also, in each semester of practicum, a video of a counseling session was taken and critiqued in class.
